Soramame Asagi (Suzu Hirose) comes from rural Kyushu to Tokyo. There, she met Oto Umino (Ren Nagase) once and at that time they were listening to the same song at the same time. Time flies, Soramame met Oto again, but this time in a different circumstance; Soramame is dumped by her fiancé and Oto struggles at making music. Their fate once again collided and now Soramame lives under the same roof as Oto.

Another 5-star drama I've watched this year. I know I'm late watching this drama and I regret that. This drama is so cozy, comforting, and calming. The romance is sweet; it's the type of relationship you wish you have. The conflict, the familial relationship, friendship, all of them are in this drama and I love how this drama channel it. I mean, their first meeting can be considered as a fate and how cute is that? I declare this drama as my comfort drama. I definitely will rewatch it.
Oto and Soramame are facing their own problems. Soramame is stressed because supposedly her wedding ceremony should have been held soon, yet her fiancé dumped her for another woman. Soramame feels stressed. Oto is the one who saved her and comforts her during her hard times. Oto is literally the walking green flag. This guy is so kind, so pure, not selfish and always pays attention if there's something wrong with people he loves. He is the one who asks Soramame to stay in Tokyo. Oto, on the other hand, is doubt if he's actually a good musician or not since he always works hard in producing music but it seems like his work is not good enough to get a recognition. He is actually very talented. The music he composed is great and very pleasing to the ears. It's just about the timing. Soramame and Oto who lives together (there is a woman with them, actually. Kyoko-san, portrayed by Mari Natsuki, is the owner of the house hehe) inspire each other and they make each other as their muses. Soramame is very passionate in designing clothes because of Oto, and Oto feels inspired after he talks to Soramame. They complement each other💗
The trope of this drama is friends to lovers. I'm a suckered of this trope; there's something beautiful when the characters feel something more than just a friend and they don't know how to react to each other after their feelings change. I love the banter of Oto and Soramame. Oto is a quiet person while Soramame is a bright person, but when she teases Oto, he becomes playful too and it's only her who can make him do that. Since the beginning of the drama, I know Oto and Soramame already have this chemistry, it's just the matter of time. Even though there are other characters like Oto's partner in music, Seira Kanno (Momoko Tanabe) and Soramame's senior at her workplace, Hazuki-san (Mario Kuroba), I'm glad that the romance is still great and strong between Oto and Soramame, because honestly, I'm not a fan of love triangle, especially the annoying one. The presence of other characters even sweeten the love story of the main characters.
The characters development is great as well. I adore the characters in this drama, especially Soramame. Her life has never been easy, but she always puts a smile on her face. She's scared about what will life bring, but she decides she will be brave and faces them anyway. Everyone needs that spirit. She's such an inspiring character and Suzu Hirose once again does an amazing job portraying the character. This is the first time I watched Ren Nagase in a drama or a movie. His acting is very great. It's hard for me to explain this, but the way his eyes look at Soramame, it's so good in a way that I started to think, "This is the way someone looks at the one he loves". When you watch this drama, I'm sure you'll get what I mean. He's so good at expressing 'the look of love' to Soramame. He impresses me so much. I believe he will star in many movies / dramas in the future.
The writing is great too. There are many dialogues that feel relatable to our daily life. The dialogues between the characters are good as well. It's like poetic dialogues but not in the way it will cause a confusion. One of my favourite quotes:
"We held hands into the twilight. Dreaming of summer fireworks. But, it never comes to us, right?"
Another thing I want to discuss is cinematography! It is stunning! Similar to the title, most scenes in this drama happen in the afternoon to the evening, when the sunshine begins to set. And the atmosphere, the setting, they are lovely. I love when house is set to create a cozy, soothing atmosphere where I will think, "This is the place that you really call as home".
And don't forget about the OSTs, they are amazing and so easy to listen to. Oh, I also have a theory about the story that might refers to the title. Maybe, holding hand at twilight can be interpreted as loving each other not only in good times, but also when your partner is feeling down and having hard times. It's just my opinion tho🙏☺️ what do you think?
Overall, I highly recommend this drama if you like a slow burn romance with a great atmosphere and cozy feeling. The casts, the chemistry, the acting, the music, the atmosphere, and others, they are chef's kiss. This is my rating: 5/5⭐️ have you watched this drama?
