One day, a young woman named Shizuka Yamauchi (Mei Nagano) comes to Mitarai house. She introduced herself as their new housekeeper. There, Shizuka Yamauchi met Makiko Mitarai (Kyoka Suzuki), a housewife who is also a social media influencer. After Shizuka works for Makiko officially, Shizuka reveals to the viewers that her actual name is not Shizuka Yamauchi, but Anzu Murata. 13 years ago, she was Anzu Mitarai.

(Mei Nagano as Anzu Murata/ Anzu Mitarai)

***

This 8-episode drama tells a story of Anzu Murata who planned for a revenge on Makiko Mitarai, because Makiko has taken so much away from Anzu's family. It is later revealed that Makiko was a close friend of Anzu's mother, Satsuki Murata. Makiko's jealousy and obsessions lead her to do dirty things to Mitarai family. Anzu believes that Makiko is the one who is responsible for the fire that burned Mitarai house 13 years ago, so she pretends to be a housekeeper until she gets what she wants.

(Anzu with her fake identity)

I recently finished watching romance dramas (one of them is Hold My Hand at Twilight, and yes, a review will be coming soon😄), and watching a mystery/suspense drama after that feels so much thrilling and enjoyable.

(Kyoka Suzuki as Makiko Mitarai and Mei Nagano as Anzu Murata)

This drama is fast-paced, the atmosphere was great, the setting, which is often in Mitarai house is great as well. As a viewer, I can sense the cold, lifeless house because the owners are busy doing anything else that is not meaningful and it tells that "Hey, the people who live in this house are not like family at all" atmosphere. And it is a nice detail in this drama. Moreover, there are many twists and turns, and at the end of each episode, there is a cliffhanger that made you want to watch the next episode and the next one. Seeing what if Anzu will get caught and her secrets will be revealed feel exciting and thrilling.

The acting is great too. Everyone has done an amazing job in delivering their characters. Mei Nagano and Kyoka Suzuki who plays Anzu and Makiko impressed me the most. Anzu is such a realistic character. She is clever, has determination, seemed strong all the time, but she is actually fragile and afraid at some times. Makiko, this woman, made me furious while watching this drama. She is such an awful person. Her unhealthy obsessions and jealousy made us, the viewers, hate her instantly. She only cares about how people see her on social media; a nice comments on her fake life in social media means the world to her, rather than her own family. This drama delivers a message about the bad influence of social media. Other people's life in social media seems beautiful and happy when in reality, it is not always like that.

Another thing I love in this drama is others characters. The portion of all of the characters' appearance is great. Rather than focuses on a few characters only, and the rest barely showed up, this drama displays that other characters have their own roles as well. Standing beside Anzu, is a cheerful talkative Yuzu (Yuri Tsunematsu). A sister who has her own way to help Anzu and supports her no matter what happens. I love Yuzu soooo much and the sister dynamic in this drama is lovely🥺💗 Anzu also has a best bestfriend who often helps her as well, Claire (Kie Kitano). Also, there is Anzu and Yuzu's beautiful and kindhearted mother (Michiko Kichise). Makiko has two sons from her previous marriage, Kiichi (Asuka Kudo) and Shinji (Taishi Nakagawa). Both of these men have known Murata sisters since they were young because their mothers were friends. A bit of spoiler, because Kiichi, Shinji and Murata sisters aren't blood related, there is a romance between Murata sisters and these men. The romance is sweet, realistic and it feels real. It is also one of my favorite things in this drama🥰 then, there is Anzu and Yuzu's father (Mitsuhiro Oikawa). Don't want to comment much about his character, I just want to punch his face😂 he is that annoying. Other characters like the head of the nurse in Mitarai Hospital, Shinji's friend also appear.

(Yuzu Murata, played by Yuri Tsunematsu)
(Anzu and Yuzu's father, Osamu Mitarai, played by Mitsuhiro Oikawa)
(Asuka Kudo as Kiichi Mitarai)
(Taishi Nakagawa as Shinji Mitarai and his friend)
(Kie Kitano as Claire)

For the ending, I love it! It feels fair at some point and this drama reminds us that we are just human. We make mistakes all the time. Although I think some things aren't really fair for Murata family, the important thing is how we change to make the better version of ourselves. And that's what the characters did. I'm happy the characters get the happiness they deserve. I feel so much emotions while watching this drama. It's my personal favorite. Moreover, I have waited for this drama since Mei Nagano was announced as the lead role, and this drama did not disappoint. I highly recommend if you are looking for a mystery/suspense revenge drama that feels realistic with a little bit romance in it. My rating is 4/5⭐️ let me know if you have watched it on the comments below😊 see you on the next post!💗
