Yesterday Once More (2023) Review: Time Loop Romance with Great Chemistry between the Leads

Hello, everyone! Thank you for visiting this page💗 in the last day of 2023, I want to share a review of a Chinese movie, Yesterday Once More (which I believe is also mainly set during December 31st).

Title: Yesterday Once More

Screenwriter: Lu An Xian

Little Gu Yu Xuan was celebrating his birthday with a cake made of sand. He was very lonely after his mother passed away, and he was dealing with a father who abused him. Han Shu Yan joined him to celebrate his birthday and gave him a rabit doll as his birthday present. Yu Xuan thought the doll was a duck doll, not a rabbit. They became friends but one day, Shu Yan has moved from the neighborhood. Years later, Yu Xuan (Chen Fei Yu) has become a toy character maker. On a friend's wedding, he meets Shu Yan (Zhou Ye) again.

This movie was a Chinese movie I watched after such a long time. I watch some Chinese dramas and I really enjoyed them but I'm not an avid watcher, and I think, begin it with watching a movie is a nice start to jump back in to the Chinese drama/movie worlds. And I'm glad I watched this one.

As you've seen from the title of the post, this movie is a time loop movie. I would not say my review as a spoiler, because it is shown in the trailer: after Yu Xuan meets Shu Yan, their romantic relationship begins. But the question is, will it last forever?

Something happens and it makes one of the lead characters regrets it, and wishes that time can be repeated to fix all of the things that happened between them (Yu Xuan and Shu Yan). This character wakes up at the same time in December 31st (when the things happened), for few times, tries to change every single thing to twist the fate, but some things just cannot be fixed; even that character knows that. And it's very heartbreaking to watch, but in the best way possible?

I won't say what happened and which character who wishes things were different because I think it's better if you know that by watching this movie by yourself.

I read that this movie based or adapted from a Japanese movie, Tomorrow I Will Date with Yesterday's You, but to be honest, I think it is more similar to another Japanese movie called The 100th Love with You. But I love all of these three movies equally, since they are unique in their own ways. Maybe time loop theme has been done in many movies but Yesterday Once More presents fresh ideas in it, like familial relationship, passion, friendship, chances and others.

(I really love their chemistry! (ღ˘⌣˘ღ) )

I love this movie so much! The pacing is great, the setting (in the winter) is lovely, I love the casts' acting, but what I love the most is the chemistry between Zhou Ye and Chen Fei Yu💗 they look so good together! I also like that Yu Xuan and Shu Yan choose the career path that they are passionate about, and how they support each other. The message of this movie is also very clear: never waste time and people who love us, because it could be the last day we see them. I really like the ending; it's an open one, but I would say that it leans more towards a happy ending. I really enjoy this movie, so I give it 4,2/5⭐️ have you guys watched this movie? Please comment your thoughts down below. See you in 2024!💗

Japanese Movie Review: Even if This Love Disappears from the World Tonight (Konya, Sekai kara kono Koi ga Kietemo) [2022]

If you love torturing yourself by watching sad movies like I do, then you need to watch Even if This Love Disappears from the World Tonight (今夜、世界からこの恋が消えても -native title). (The Movie Poster) I will insert the official Twitter here , and more information on AsianWiki here . Maori Hino (Riko Fukumoto) has retrograde amnesia. She basically will forget everything if she falls asleep. When she wakes up, she reads many signs in her room that tell her to read her diary. Her diary is the only thing that can explain her activities before she was asleep. One day, Toru Kamiya (Shunsuke Michieda), a guy from her school, asks her to be his girlfriend. And Maori said yes. Then the story begins. (Shunsuke Michieda as Toru Kamiya) (Riko Fukumoto as Maori Hino) Reading from the synopsis on AsianWiki and other sources, we already know where the story will go. I mean, isn't it already sad that Maori have to face that situation? There is a fake dating trope in this movie. Yes, at first Maori and Toru
